Minnesota through a photographer’s lens

Slideshow: Retiring after 40-plus years, David Hansen shares more photos of university research and Minnesota ag.

When Minnesota Agricultural Experiment Station photographer David Hansen announced his retirement early this year, we knew sharing his vast vault of photographs with The Farmer readers was a must.

We continue to share a very, very small slice of his work. Hansen selected the photos and provided information about each one.

Hansen officially retires from 40-plus years at the University of Minnesota on June 30. Immediate plans call for him to spend more time at his family’s Christmas tree farm in Ramsey, Minn., and spend time with his family: wife Karen Lilley, daughter Britta and son Kell.

Here is our second collection of Hansen’s photographs. We will feature another “album” next month, too.

Enjoy!
